Our HRT Services
Hormone replacement therapy can include several different hormones: estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone. Depending on someone’s specific physiology and needs, one of several hormones, or combinations of hormones, may be used during HRT. Additionally, there are several different ways that these hormones may be introduced by our Palm Beach Springs HRT doctor into the body including injection, patches, supplements, ring insert, and creams or gels. A client’s specific situation and needs will determine the route that the hormones are delivered, as each route is suited to a specific purpose.
Testosterone Therapy: Can be administered via intramuscular injection, testosterone patches, or a topical gel. Dosing should be exact, so medical supervision is required for all 3 methods.
Estrogen & Progesterone Therapy: The most common form of estrogen therapy is combined with progesterone, as estrogen alone can increase the risk of uterine cancer. Progesterone helps reduce this risk and a combination of estrogen and progesterone therapy can be applied by oral supplements, patches, creams, or a vaginal ring.
Estrogen Therapy: Using estrogen on its own is usually only recommended for women who have had their uterus removed through a hysterectomy. Using estrogen can increase the risk of uterine cancer, although this is not an issue post-hysterectomy.
